National Volunteer Week

????To our volunteers during #NationalVolunteerWeek: We will never be able to fully express the level of gratitude we have for each and every second you donate to help move our mission forward.

As a 100% volunteer-driven effort, our success is proven not only in the gratitude from those receiving a Street Bundle, but in the emotional testimonials shared at build events from those who’ve distributed bundles discussing the impact the bundles have had on those who’ve received them. Our concept is simply compassion – we know that they are someone’s child, parent, sibling, neighbor or friend. We know that their circumstances today do not define their life, their worth or their tomorrow. The necessities found in each Street Bundle are given from our hearts to their hands, unconditionally, without judgment, with the goal of making their today better than their yesterday. As the opening line of our Street Bundle letter states, “In a world where you are invisible to many, please know that we see you. In a world where people look down at you, we strive to look you in the eyes and extend a hand to you.”??

COVID-19 Update:

Since the beginning of the year, we’ve been diligently working on a few big-scale Street Bundles projects that involve storage & inventory, corporate build events & grant applications to help fund future community builds. We originally intended to host our first 2020 Bundle Build in April, however given the current situation with COVID19, we’ve decide to postpone all build-related events until further notice.

We know this pandemic will significantly affect our unhoused population in many ways, with closures and limitations being put on essential support services they rely on to live. With that in mind, board members Aaron & Alex went to our storage facility yesterday and pulled out the remaining built bundles we had stored & loaded up the vehicle. They will be distributing them to a few select locations, community partner organizations & keeping a supply in our cars for folks we encounter out and about.

While adhering to all CDC guidelines we want to keep our message of hope moving forward by actively working with local charities and continuing to build bundles for those in need.

These are unprecedented times. But, we will come together as a community and get through this. We do that by helping each other.

Stay tuned for further updates from the Street Bundles team.

From our hearts to yours.
